Assassin Snails - Multiple Quantities
Assassin Snails, also known as Clea Helena, is a species of freshwater snail with an operculum, an aquatic gastropod in the family Buccinidae, the true whelks, most of which are marine.
Assassin snails are a carnivorous species, so their diet doesn’t include any vegetation, algae or plants.
They will eat other snails. Trumpet, Ramshorn snails are their favorite snacks. Sometime they will also hunt soft snail eggs, bloodworm, and shrimp fry. Assassins usually do not eat their own kind though.
Benefits of Assassin Snails, these Tank Cleaners will:
- Hunt unwanted snails (snail eating snail). They eat almost all snails but leave their own species alone. In a rare occasion, they will also hunt shrimp.
- Friendly snails, safe for plants, fish, and other aquarium's inhabitants.
- Control the pest pond snails, fish food waste, and any decompose materials such as the dead body of the fish, snail, shrimp, etc.
These snails can coexist with most tropical fish and larger snails (mystery snails). They can live with larger shrimp but may attack them. Use caution with other shrimps.
All Assassin snails have been bred in our fish room and breeding tanks.
Groups of 5 to 10 work best for heavy snail infestations depending on the size of your tank.
10 gallon = 5

55-75 gallon = 10-20
Heavy infestation 40-75 gallon 20-50+
You can also use them for snail prevention it's nearly impossible to avoid pest snails, when there are no snails to eat they will eat protein based foods such as bloodworms
